This mostly happens due to interruption during the downloads by security features of the system which are constantly updated with changes due to security reasons.  &#8220;Error 15223: The QuickBooks Desktop update did not complete successfully.&#8221; and &#8220;Error 15223: Cannot connect to QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.&#8221; are most common error most of QuickBooks desktop users are experiencing these days.  Lets see how to fix it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Change the settings if Internet Explorer. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Open <strong class=\"\">Internet Explorer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Select the <strong class=\"\">Gear icon<\/strong>, then <strong class=\"\">Internet Options<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Go to the <strong class=\"\">Advanced<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under <strong class=\"\">Security<\/strong>, locate <strong class=\"\">Use TLS 1.0<\/strong>, <strong class=\"\">TLS 1.1<\/strong>, and <strong class=\"\">Use TLS 1.2.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure <strong class=\"\">Use TLS 1.0<\/strong> is unchecked while <strong class=\"\">Use TLS 1.1<\/strong> and <strong class=\"\">Use TLS 1.1<\/strong> are checked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Select <strong class=\"\">Apply<\/strong>, then <strong class=\"\">OK<\/strong>. Retry the update. If the error persists, try the 2nd step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reregister the .dll files<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the the .dll file gets corrupt due to with the update fails. here is how to reregister the .dll files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Copy the following: <strong class=\"\">regsvr32 \/s %SystemRoot%\\system32\\softpub.dll<\/strong>.  and paste it in the windows run box and click ok.  then copy the following: <strong class=\"\">regsvr32 \/s %SystemRoot%\\system32\\WinTrust.dll<\/strong>. and repeat the same steps and you will receive a message, &#8220;the file was registered successfully.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong>Update Quickbooks<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At time the Quickbooks application is not updated due to which its not able to receive the most recent tax table updates therefore update your QuickBooks to the most recent patch update &amp; restart the computer and retry the payroll updates.
